2021
Farewell, Haewon! Welcome, Camiel!
This month, Haewon left us after a successful PhD and we wish her all the best for her future in the scientific writing / editing business. At the same time, we are happy to welcome a new PhD student, Camiel, who joins us from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. We hope you will have a great and insightful time here, Camiel.
Congrats to Dr. Yi-Chung Dzeng!
This week, Yi-Chung successfully defended his comprehensive and diverse work on all things KAT-related. From kinetics to COFs to PROTACs, he once more proved his broad expertise and deep understanding. Yi-Chung will soon move on to new challenges with Prof. Felix Fischer (another ETH graduate) at UC Berkeley and we wish him great success with that!
Welcome Anna Konopka!
Today we welcome our new colleague, Anna, who is joining the group as a PhD candidate. Anna has completed her Bachelors in Warsaw, Poland and her Masters in the Netherlands, where she has focused on chemistry for drug development. After an internship at Bayer, she is now starting her PhD with us. Anna, we wish you the best of luck for the coming years in our group!
Synple moved to new labs
This week we had to bid farewell to our spin-off company Synple, which after their initial years at ETH has now moved to their own labs in Kempthal.
Congrats to Dr. Dominik Schauenburg!
We are happy to announce our first successfull PhD defense of 2021. Dominik has concluded his work on many things related to KATs, particularly focused on polymers and hydrogels. We wish Dominik all the best for his future as a polymer researcher!
